Collective Atelier is a creative visual arts workshop & studio that offers an effective learning environment where current professionals and experienced instructors teach, train and guide students in divergent visual arts practices.
Year by year, when the professors evaluate students’ portfolio, it is questionable why students omit the importance of life drawing or observational practice, which is the most important fundamental of all art and design programs. Some students imitate figure drawings from photograph or internet access, but this shallow practice reveal the problem at a glance, absence of life, flat outcome and lack of understanding for illusion of depth. Some students do not have access to life drawing, unfortunately, due to nudity or limited resources provided by day school.
This 4-Days workshop will focus on developing the figurative tradition from life models that I carefully selected and hired. As many of you know, life drawing is an essential part of portfolio as it demonstrates a level of understanding in anatomy, form, shading, line, and even maturity of aesthetic. Students will be exposed to observe and study life models from a variety of short pose and sustained pose, including portraiture, full-figure, gesture, and colour theory from Munsell Colour System.
Portfolio is the single most important part of the application for some majors. It must be prepared specifically for the one major that student is applying for. Let us know your interested major and our instructor can guide youin preapring your portfolio.
